A cookbook of 70 recipes of ‘food memories’ to keep these dishes alive for the next generation.
Mostly all the recipes are sacred to my family and hold a special place in my heart as they were passed down from great grandparents, grandparents and parents. So I dedicate this book to them, the families of Nicoliello, Zarrella, Cogliano and Sansone.
My goal is to keep these recipes uncomplicated using minimal ingredients that most people keep in their pantry. I also hope that the dishes from the book compel you to create beautiful food moments; eating together, drinking together and maybe even being involved in heated discussions about food, wine or life; trying to get your opinion across or heard can always be made difficult especially if homemade wine is involved! But to me, that’s what being Italian is about- being passionate about what you’re feeling at that moment.
It has been a labour of love decoding these recipes for you to share with your family and for me to pass on to my three girls, and I look forward to watching you create your own ‘food memories’ and sharing them with family and friends. Feel free to share your stories with me @thelittleitaliancook.
